Office Fitness Principles

The Pillars of Office Fitness
- Exercise and routine movement need to be a bigger part of our workdays. Sedentary work habits are literally killing us. We have to get moving at work, and we have to get fit for work to counteract both the hazards of sitting and the postural patterns that office work creates.
- Ergonomics attempts to balance productivity with comfort. Whether you are working all by yourself in your home office or are in a supportive organization with on-site ergonomics experts, you can improve your work set-up with ergonomics knowledge and self-assessments.
- Posture is a largely unconscious response to our daily activities. When you work at a desk all day, postural distortions are inevitable. It can help to cultivate body awareness and to do exercises that mitigate the postural effects of office work.
- Nutrition, Self-Care, and Professional Care are important to your office fitness, so I cover topics in this areas as well.
