Office Work
If you stop to think about it, office work is a pretty crazy activity. We humans spent thousands of years working mostly outdoors in very active occupations. Then, gradually, over the past century, we started moving to indoor jobs, first in industrial jobs and later into professional occupations. About 30 years ago, with the introduction of the personal computer, millions of us started sitting at computers all day, adding sedentariness to the mix.
This combination of new sedentary work activities conducted indoors has created a whole slew of problems: back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injuries, obesity, eye strain, and other consequences of office work are at epidemic levels.
Office work keeps us from being as fit as we need to be to enjoy long, healthy, happy lives. The goal of OfficeFitness.org is to help you get back on track, to stay fit at work and fit for work.
